I'm new to the forum And wanted to say hello :)
Been keeping dart frogs almost a year now and me and my gf are thinking of getting a chameleon. Got a few months of researching/planning to do before I even consider actually buying one but hopefully I'll feel a bit more confident in 4-5 months. Can't wait to kick start the planning :D

I'm glad to hear you're doing research before buying! It's the best thing you can do and this forum is a fantastic place to start. There's a wealth of knowledge here unlike any other site I've come across.

Ask questions, share opinions!

Thanks for the welcome. Even though research can't eliminate all the stress of getting a new pet it definetely makes it a bit easier.

Welcome and as most have said already " You've come to the right place". This forum by far has the most knowledge on chameleons than anywhere else on the net! :D Welcome!

Welcome to chameleon land :D I Thought about it for a month bought and read all the books i could ;) Im now Hooked. Every night i come in from Work not just sort my Fella but all his feeders too ;) What you have to take in to consideration is, it is expensive to keep a cham and also take a lot of your time. But when you dot the I and cross the T you have the most amazing pet :D:D
 
Hehe I love taking care of all the feeders for my dart frogs. Got a little closet under the stairs which have 2 18lt tubs of springtail and woodlice cultures, fruit flies, pea aphids, bean weevils and soon im stocking up on confused flour weevils and grain weevils. I take more time making sure my frogs food is ok rather than mine lol
Can't wait to fill up with crickets and worms as well lol. If the chameleons are nearly as addictive as the frogs i might be in some serious trouble hehe

welcome to the forums!!! chameleons are not mammals even though some do give live births!!! this love is more addicting then heroin!!!
 
I don't mind them too much to be honest but they do tend to crash once in a while and sources are quite unreliable :(. Stocking up on a whole new range of stuff though. Curious to see how much the food cost is going to add up to for a single chameleon and how easy it's going to be to keep them going.
Any tips as to which food source I should start breeding from now to get the hang of things?

From what you say about your frog feeders then you could breed crickets and mealworms blindfolded. Locusts and superworms for later are easy too. Have fun.
