Hello from new member and MistKing Question

HI everyone. I am a new member of this forum and check in frequently as I prepare for the arrival of my Kammer Sambava baby (son of Vincente) in about 3 weeks. I am considering purchasing a Starter System from Mistking while they have a 10% discount on everything. Is the ZipDrip valve something that is important to include- is there that much dripping? Also, is the screen top wedge a useful addition- looks like it would be. I am sure I will have lots more questions as the arrival time gets closer, but I have already learned SO MUCH from reading all your posts. What a fantastic resource thanks to all of you!

ps- posted this earlier under different thread and got no answers- please help.

Hey, welcome. I have the basic mistking set up and I do not see a need for the zip drip. I do like the screen wedge though. It makes it easy to place the nozzle.

Welcome. :)

I dont use the zip drip, it doesnt drip that much for me. And i use the wedges, it helps to protect the wire mesh from falling apart further once you cut a hole in it for the nozzles.

I have a system with the zip drip and a system without. The drip is not really an issue, esp for chams. But I do find that it helps if you tend to foget to fill the resivoire, without it if the system runs dry you can develope an air lock and have to drain an reprime the system, with the valve that does not happen.
I do really like the wedges, they acctually stiffen up most screen cages.
Hope that helps and welcome to the forum.

I agree the wedge is worth the $$ the zip not so much imo, I am a believer in using an auto top off switch after my ro/di to keep my reservoir full so I don't worry about it running dry. I do confess though I run my line into the corner thru the wedge but I then run the line out to the middle of the enclosure and mist downwards across the plants. This saturates plants the best and creates the rain effect and no mist out thru the screen sides.
