Hello, my name is Don Montgomery and I reside in Parkersburg, WV. I am somewhat of a "newbie" to owning a chameleon, but did own one back about 15 years or so ago. I got him from a breeder in California but can't remember exactly "where" it was.

I was very pleased with the ownership and he was thriving and doing well. We probably had him for about 5 years or so before his life was cut short due to a housefire that we had back in 1996. I am looking to own another Panther in the very near future and have already been in contact with a breeder and I'm going to get his cage all set up and then purchase my second chameleon.

I just wanted to say Hello........and thank the people that made and moderate this forum. I have been reading everything that I can find about these wonderful creatures. I'm kinda like the proverbial "sponge" and want to learn all that I can before delivery of our new chameleon.

I would ask that you would please excuse some of the "common knowledge" questions that I will most likely ask over the next few months. I just want to create a happy, healthy environment for our new pet.

Welcome to the forums. There is a ton of knowledge here. Ask away, and be sure to use the search function for any topics you want to research.

welcome, i think you will like it here, lots of friendly knowelgable people always willing to help.

Hi Don, welcome to our little band of lizard lovers.:) You will find lots of variety here, in chams, in knowledge, in people. But we are all here to help so ask the same one questions. We have a sufficient number of people the same one don't have to answer each time.

Thanks everyone, for the warm welcome. :D

Thanks for the link........David, I have already read it several times.

It will probably be at least another month before I get my new friend shipped to me, but that is fine..........I need to get the kit and have it all set-up and functioning properly.

I have quite a bit of experience with a variety of freshwater fish and exotic cat breeds. I have been wanting to get another Panther for about 15 years now..........and it is finally "time". I will continue to read and re-read and try my best to make our new pet a comfortable, safe and secure home.

Welcome! My husband and I purchased our first cham about a month ago and just recently bought a second. It's an addictive hobby and one clearly is never enough!
