dont do it chams dont feel heat on their feet they bask so to avoid a burned foot which is their softest body part i wouldnt risk it just bump up your rooms ambient temp

Whats the best option for maintaining night time ambient temps? I mean it commonly gets down to 50F at night in winter where I live and my space heating is not effective so wouldnt an infrared lamp on thermostat work?
I understand that maintaining the climate control is best but my split system unit heating is not working ...
Where do you live? What type of species? If its a must use one of those oil base type heaters. Other types have teflon which fumes are not good for your animals. If you have a montane species such as jacksonii that is a great night time drop!!!
