I have a female veiled in a screen cage. Her thermostat is on 92 and the sensor/probe is right next to it but it never turns off. is this because it is a screen cage and the heat is escaping quickly?
I tried a thermostat, same result. Heat rises up and away from the probe. It may never switch off. Save energy and use a lower wattage sufficent to heat the basking area to the desired temp. It will still stay on all day (use a timer, no night heat) but you use less energy.
