Hi i have just recently got a yeomen chameleon and was woundering should a heat mat be used at night he is in a temporay small but tall glass mesh top exo terra ? Im just worried his temps dropping too much

Unless it gets very cold he will be fine. Do not use a heat mat. A heat source for a cham should be from above. Unless it gets below 12.77 C he will be fine. He can take colder temps but not all time. If he needs nighttime heat get a ceramic heat emitter. Those bulbs emit no light but supply heat. Do not get it too close as they get really hot.
