Heat Tape Information Request

Could anyone answer a couple questions about heat tape please?

1) Best brand?

2) Do both ends heat up? (Meaning the adhesive side and non adhesive side)

3) Best wattage?

1. THG heat tape is the "best brand". But I am biased : )

2. There is no adhesive side on any of the two brands that I am aware of (if it is a heat PAD, then there may be an adhesive side). On heat tape, both sides would have heat, yes.

3. Wattage depends on the width of heat tape you choose, and that depends on what your application and cage setup is.

I use flexwatt and make the connections myself with a soldering iron. There is no adhesive (though you can use foil tape to secure it to stuff) and both sides heat up. And like said above, the wattage will depend on the application and and width of the tape. You can also connect a light dimmer to it to control the heat (which is what I do.)
