Does anyone know any bulbs that give off heat and UVB at the same time? I ask this because I think it would be more convenient to just have 1 bulb instead of 2.
Proper husbandry is not always convenient.
Additionally, it is a commonly accepted theory that chameleons need the opportunity to choose which type of light they want to be under (heat or UVB) in a captive environment, and for that reason both types of lights are utilized in separate areas of the enclosure.
Hi! i use a mercury vapor bulb along with a couple other guys/gals here on this forum. i have used it since day one with both a veiled and panther. i havent had a sigle problem yet. my next cham i am going to try a 5.0 bulb instead just to see what happens. The mercury vapors are an all-in-one bulb. UV and heat
So if I get a mercury buld i dont need an nother source of light. Do i still need to get a basking lamp, and do your guys rooms ever get hot from all the bulbs in the room?
well i use two bulbs both are 100 watt. one mercury vapor and one regular reptile bulb about 7 bucks. i have a large cage tho. if you have a large cage like me a 160 watt mercury vapor should be plenty.
