Health worry!!

I'm worried about my veiled Cham! He's not eaten in 5-6 days, I mist him about 3-4 times a day, I've checked in his mouth and it seems ok but he just completely ignores his food now, sometimes the locust even climb on him and he just brushes them off and continues to ignore them, tried to put crickets in as well but he did the same, just wondering if this is normal.

Are you only feeding him locusts and crickets?

Well I tried mealworms once a while ago but he just ate one mouth of them and ignored them after that, was a bit worried about trying waxworms as I heard they can become addicted

Chams can be buggers sometimes, he sounds like he is just on a hunger strike. If all you are offering is crickets or locusts he may just be bored with those choices. You could try offering him some superworms as they are probably the easiest thing to come by. I give my guys a lot of different food choices. Crickets, silk, horn, butter, phoenix and wax worms, plus roaches. If he is otherwise healthy and drinking I would not worry too much. Just try to increase the variety.
Also try to stay away from mealworms. Not nutritious.

Try superworms or hornedworms he may just be bored with those feeders they are very picky eaters

Yeh he seems to be healthy still and roams around a fair bit, how long can they go without eating? I seem to of read a few different things, he's a fully grown male adult.

Sounds like I need To go get some worms then! Should I leave the couple of locust in there free roam? Or take them out so he might get interested in them again next time I put some in?

Well you can't give him 100% worms either they need some hard skin bugs in there diet too. But my male veiled i feed every other day now and he is good still doesnt like crickets but eats alot of roaches for his chittin.

Yeh I've got a tub of crickets and another of locust I'll keep and carry on feeding to give to him but go and get some sort of worms as well now

I try to make sure no bug is more than 20% of his diet not always easy but it can be done.

He gave in and ate the locusts that were in there today lol, gonna go get him some worms to mix things up a bit more though anyway, cheers for the replies though people
