Hi everyone I have a 10 month old male panther chameleon and I handle him a good amount he loves to come out of his cage and free roam around my room I have vines everywhere and plants where he can climb on but recently he has been puffing up while he is breathing, he isn’t puffing up at me but just while he is breathing, I’m getting worried he still eating and drinking but doesn’t seem to be moving around as much and the puffing thing is worrying me

When you say puffing up. Are you talking like firing up? Defensive posture bright colors?

No not his colors under it like his chin and he isn’t making his body more flat or putting his hand up it’s just under his chin

Do I need a divider between them? They don’t ever puff up at each other
We recommend a divider especially if they are both chameleons. But regardless with the other cage being so close this is as if the other animal is in their territory and can cause extreme stress over time leading to health issues.

I have no clue

yes
Ok so your using the wrong kind of UVB lighting. Compact bulbs are the #1 cause of Metabolic Bone Disease or MBD in chameleons. You want a T5HO fixture with a 5.0 uvb bulb and you want their basking in the cage to be 9 inches below this fixture. They need exposure to this for at least a few hours a day.

What is in the other cage next to his?
