He has changed completely after the shed

Hey everyone, how's it goin?

For the past week or so my boy will not eat any food from a cup, my hands, and tongs all together. He doesnt attack crickets the way he used to. The crickets have to be in his enclosure, and he will only eat a few (like three or four). I just got some hornworms and i used to feed those by hand, but now when i put them on the screen it took him like ten minutes to finally recognize it and shoot at it. He doesnt drink water from the leaves anymore, his urates arent looking very good. And all he wants to do is climb out of his enclosure and wander around. Should i be worried, or is it just a thing that 7 month old panthers go through?
Oh and this all happened after a shed that took about 4 days to go through. Could he be trying to find a girl? He has been dropping alot of sperm plugs lately.

He normally drinks the dew off of the leaves, or off of the screen, now he drinks a few sips from the dripper every few days and thats it. I have a pothos and an umbrella plant in the cage

WAIT!!! I did add the pothos the day he was shedding, could that be it? Maybe he doesnt like it?

Sometimes changes to the cage cause stress, but I wouldn't think it would go this far... today I noticed my guy was kinda doing this and he's just finishing up shedding

I mean he doesnt show stressed colors at all, they are actually a little brighter. But i notice whenever i take him out he always crawls to the window and tries to break through the window screen with his nose. He has a great view of some trees, is that why he has been doing this?

Sounds like he wants a girlfriend :)

He could also be reaching the age where he wants to eat less. Do you feed him daily or every other day?

My female veiled got her big girl colours and also won't cup feed anymore so maybe it's an age thing.

I've seen senior members suggest taking a dehydrated cham on a plant into the shower and aiming the spray at a wall next to them.

Does your buddy get any 'out of habitat' time?

My guy likes to look out the window too!! It's normal he's brighter colors, that's what happens after they shed.

Loki too!

Mine has been doing the exact same thing, except he's been drinking fine. Not eating very much like he used to, trying to get out all the time and ignoring food...I take him outside on the weekends, and let him out into his free range but it's like he's always trying to get back outside and it makes me feel kinda guilty:eek: I would love to have an outside cage for him, but it's way too hot here and too dry...anything we can do about this, or understand it?? It is a little concerning:eek:

Ya i feed him daily, but he used to eat like a beast before the shed, like 10 crickets and a big hornworm and a super worm. Today he ate the most at 2 medium hornworms and 2 butterworms. He gets out of his habitat everyday, the minute he wakes up he is scratching at the door and i take him out of his cage to walk around my room. I also have been taking him outside and just soaking him with the hose to cool him down and to get him to drink, but he just doesnt want to drink:confused:.

Could he be tempted with some silkworms? They're good for hydrating. Not in lieu of drinking properly, but every little helps.

I actually just ordered some silkies because i havent had any since about a week before he shed, so hopefully those babies will kick start something. I literally just misted him for a good 5 minutes directly and the only thing he did was give a little lick to his branch and his lips:mad:.

Just an update on leo, he still isnt eating from my hands, only a superworm:confused: He has been eating some hornworms lately, still not going for many crickets. I found out he likes butterworms which is good:D. I also noticed the only time he drinks from the dripper is when he is right next to it and i turn it to a faster drip. Could it be that he doesnt see the drip? could his eyesight be bad?
