He ate one!

Sorry for the (probably) inane updates, I'm just worried. He's so little! He's a 3 weeks old cham. I dusted some crickets and got him to eat one. Is that acceptable for tonight? He ate 4 earlier. He has been drinking all day. I just want to make sure he is eating enough. I have heard of so many starving themselves at this young of age, and I want to make sure that he is eating ok...at least for today. If not....I want to know that too! I'm already head over heels for this little guy and I want to give him the best shot!

Watch dusting at that young age. You want a very light dusting due to the massive suface area of the crickets at that size. Since he is dinky, have you tried flightless fruit flies or blue bottle flies, or just went down to Bobs bait-n-guns and got a tin of maggots to later turn into flies?

Chams wont starve themselves unless there is a medical issue.

If you just got this cham, it can take a few days or even weeks for them to settle in and relax.

Sometimes they wont eat as much as we think they should, or they dont eat at all.

just keep providing food and as he settles, he will eat.

I agree with this. I have also noticed that my boy won't eat very much during a shed a little afterwards, so don't panic if this happens! Of course you want them to eat as much as possible when they are little, but some days they just arn't interested. They are on their own schedual for food. Mine is eleven months now, so I put him on a schedual of two days on, one day off so he doesn't think there is food constantly available because he got picky on me and wouldn't eat very well, but he grew out of that. I give mine crickets, and I switch back and forth with silkworms, butterworms and hornworms, whatever is available. Good luck with your little one!:D
