Just glanced and definitely seems pretty cool. I always liked the idea of some sort of programmed viv even with rain storms and such. The issue it has vs like the saltwater controllers, is they’re just not necessary. It’s like loads of money for something that won’t make a difference vs having cheap timers other than some minor convenience and cool factor. They’re popular with aquariums because of the insane amount of tech/dosing/monitors that can go into them and actually make a noticeable difference in tank quality.

Looks interesting. I have lights, mist, fans, and humidifier on smart plugs with timer schedules. I can monitor temperature and humidity via remote camera and manually control everything from my phone remotely if needed. So far so good

I’m not a fan of any heating source without a digital dimming controller managing basking temperatures
Using one, burns are fairly unlikely

I wish the T5 lamps did better with dimming/ramping up intensity better
Along with plant lighting ramp up/down for a more natural increase/decrease in lighting

I have aquarium LEDs that will simulate thunderstorms. I’m hopeful reptile lighting and control can eventually mirror some of these advances. I can’t find a good reason why we shouldn’t mirror natural conditions as closely as possible

I don’t think this thing is the new answer, but it is someone trying to get there

Oh yeah, I am all for that. I guess what I want to see is more useful features and less reorganization of the same things we have already. Lights that accurately ramp/up down would be awesome. Some realistic storm settings would be nice too. Maybe a controller that will alter the humidity/light/‘wind’/‘rain’ of the tank based off days/times of the week. It would probably have to have its own equipment to fit the system too.

I’d be interested in paying for something like that, but I don’t know if any company that could actually pull it off would risk it considering reptile keepers tend to go cheaper (generally speaking) than aquarium keepers and ultimately it’d be very niche. Beautiful aquariums are looked at as status symbols at times and at the least are like expensive decorations. We need to convince the markets that vivariums can fit that as well…. Then the cool stuff will start rolling out
