Have you ever had shedding problems?

Hi everyone,

Our 9-month-old veiled Thomas has been doing incredibly well since he's been with us, up until his most recent shedding. First, his head fully shed, and as his belly began there seemed to be some stagnation. This was a week and a half ago. He's been on food strike ever since, and I mist him with warm water frequently, and during drinking time (he drinks from a handheld dripper) I trick him into taking a few crickets and a fewer few wax worms. There are still some white bits on his back, but I haven't seen any development since. The reptile vet gave some tips, and said everything would be fine within a few weeks.

I'm not looking for advice per se, because I've seen some people on the forums talk about it, but I'm just wondering:
- does this happen to your cham?
- how do you feel during that time? (I'm SUPER stressed)

Thanks for your replies!

Hi! When I first got my girl (about 6 - 7 months ago) she had a few patches of stuck shed on her back. Nothing I did got them off and it was really annoying! Not only becuase it must be really annoying and itchy for the cham it also looked bad and untidy lol!. For the first months she would only shed parts, a hand here and there, casque another time etc. Then about a month ago she did a full body shed! And everything came off, even the bits that had been there for 4+ months! I think soemtimes it's just the luck of the draw, sometimes they'll have a difficult shed and other times it will just pop off. Don't worry too much about him not eating during this time, it's perfectly normal and he'll get back to it soon enough. Try not to tempt him with too many treats though, otherwise he may go on a whole new hunger strike :D
