Is this normal in chameleons? I have a clutch hatching now.. (Finally! they were laid last June) Only a tail is sticking out, I am a gecko breeder and this is very unusual for geckos, is it the same with chameleons? Should I be concerned?

I never heard of them hatching out tail first. Just watch it carefully, you might have to assist it. Post a picture if possible?

It happens once in a while. The ones I've seen have been fine...but I suppose there is always some risk that it could suffocate before it gets out. Not sure at what point it breaths through its nose and not through the umbilical. You don't want to just pull it out because you might detach the umbilical cord and it might bleed to death.

Something like this happened to me a few days ago.The egg opened in the babys tail and the yolk sack came out instead of the head.I waited a couple of days and then i opened the egg.The baby is fine and eating now.
