Hatching and Feeding Silkworms

Hello Everyone! We just got some silkworm eggs from Coastal Silkworms to feed our Jackson's Chameleon. We waited about a week and they're just starting to hatch! Anybody have any tips on this process? Specifically on feeding. The silkworm instructions say feed within 48 hours of the 1st hatching using the smallest grating of food. The food we bought is to be prepared with water and cooked. Can you sprinkle the food on dry? Is it cruel to wait up to 48 hours to feed, or should we just start now? Any help is appreciated :) Thank you!

Hi, where is the post? Also, how do I discard old food when they are many worms still on it? I'm afraid the old chow will rot.

If you do a search at the top of the page for silkworm and my userbame you’ll find it.

I put new food chunks in (a few inches away) and let them crawl over to that. If one or two stragglers - pick them off and the. Remove old food.
