Has anyone seen/heard of an eye infection like this?

Hello, I am new to the forums and I wanted to "get my foot in the door" so to speak. Let me apologize in advance for the incoming wall of text. I have recently adopted a female Jackson's (probably a year and a half old, I think) from a friend of my fiancee, and she came to us with a toe infection as well as what is most likely an eye infection. We got her on the 7th of Jan and took her to the vet on the 9th. She was prescribed .05mL of Baytril every other day, and today I finally began to notice the swelling of her eye going down (her toe is still swollen but I do think it has shown some improvement as well.)
Let me back up and describe the eye in question, as the purpose of this post is not to ask for help necessarily, but to see if anyone has seen or experienced something similar. Anything relating to eye problems or eye infections that I have found doesn't really match up with her situation. It is swollen to about four or five times its normal size, the swelling appearing on the top half of the turret and is soft to the touch. It thankfully is not swollen shut, there is no discharge, and she keeps it open. I will hopefully be able to add a picture tomorrow, I know that will be much more helpful than just describing it.
Currently she is housed in an Exo Terra 12x12x18 (it's what she was given to us in, I can't spare the money right now for something bigger, though as soon as I can I will). The air temp is in the 70's, basking spot a bit higher, with 60-90% humidity. Currently I am using the 13w Repti Glo 5.0 CFL for Uvb (I've heard both the yays and nays of CFLs, and may change this in the future, again, when money permits). She has fake vines and plants for furnishings. I mist the cage several times a day.
In general she has been eating and drinking somewhat normally. The vet wanted her to gain a bit of weight so he gave me some "Carnivore Care" to syringe feed her daily. Since beginning the Baytril treatment she hasn't shown much interest in live food, although that could also be do to the syringe feeding. Today, however, she hunted on her own and even got a cricket from several inches away, so her aim is starting to improve. Her feces seems normal, and her urate is white.
Again, this isn't an "I need help" post, I just wanted to say hi and ask if anyone has dealt with a similar eye problem. I'll try to get some pics posted and keep this thread updated on any progress. Thank you all in advance.

My male Panther damaged his eye and now is blind. What your describing sounds like some sort of infective process. I really hope your Cham pulls thru. Keep up hope though. Even if she ends up blind in one eye she can still live a good life. My Booberry is blind in his right eye and is doing fine. He dose get hand fed a lot but I really enjoy interacting with him like that.

Good luck and keep us informed on your progress.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Sorry you are having problems. It sounds as if she is getting better with antibiotics. I haven't had eye problems but I have used Baytral successfully. It is important to give more fluid as Baytral is hard on the kidneys. I read you have been given carnivore care. You could also give bug juice. You mush up some crickets.supplement and a little water. Remove the chunky bits and syringe feed. Keep us posted about her progress and look forward to pics.:)

Thanks for the support. I recently told my fiancee that I would like to try chameleons again at some point, I had a few when I was younger and they require more care than the usual herps I've kept over the years. When her friend offered to give us the Jackson's and cage for free (although we did get the smaller enclousure, she was in the Exo Terra 18x18x24, but it's hard to complain about free stuff) I was happy to give this another go. It breaks our hearts to see her eye so swollen, but she does appear to be showing progress now. The infection on her eye seems to be shifting more towards the front of the turret, exposing more of the backside of the eye. Before it was mostly round and smooth, where as now it is starting to wrinkle. You can even see her move the eye around a little now, it was more or less fixed into place. Other than the infection she seems pretty normal, she doesn't sleep during the day or hold her bad eye closed. I've noticed her drinking more over the last few days so I have stopped giving her small amounts of water via syringe. She seems to be hydrated better now, her skin snaps back into place quickly when given a gentle tug.
Here is a pic of her after today's Baytril treatment, I took some more but most were blurry. I'll post more pics as time goes on, but for now I'm trying to make this recovery as stress free as possible.

Is that her eye that is prominent on the photo? It is very large so it is going to take some time to go down. However it seems that the treatment is working. Keep up the good work.:)

Yes, that is her infected eye. I figured it would not be an overnight fix, as it would take some time for the Baytril to work through her system. Hopefully the fact that it is given every other day coupled with her readily drinking water during mistings will offset any of the negative effects associated with Baytril.
The actual eye itself seems fine from what I can see of it, no cloudiness or anything of that sort, perhaps there will be no permanent damage, but only time will tell.
