my neighbor has a ton of moss that is growing in his area right next to my driveway.
can i harvest moss from outside?
is their anything that could happen if i put it in my chams cage?
i plan on useing it to cover some of the plant soil,
because it looks neat, but if it will cause harm then i wont do it.

My only fear would be that the moss growing by the driveway could be contaminated from fertilizers, herbicides , pesticides or automotive contaminents.

To reduce the contamination load, consider using plugs from the moss. The plugs would be planted sporadically , possibly covering 1/10th of the area you want to cover. With time it will grow and spread. This will achieve your desired end result and only subject your environment to 1/10th the potential contamination .

they dont use any chemicals on their lawn, hell
these people dont mow their lawn but 3 times a year.
it is like 6 feet from the driveway, and most of it is right by my
veggie garden / compost pile.
so i dont think their is any chemicals.

what about bact. and parasites?

would they live on it.

Aside from the fact that it will most likley be harboring snails and slugs, it is temperate and will not last long inside without a winter dormant period.
