anyone here use hardware mesh on there enclosures.my frist enclosure i used 1/4in.i was at our local hardware store an as for 1/8in the guy quoted me the wrong price i got 15ftx4ft for just a bit under 20.00$.enough for several enclosures.

is it covered with plastic or just metal? the metal mesh is usally sharp i got coated from home depot for $10 for 2'x5' roll

What about fiberglass mesh? That is what I used, I framed the cage using screen window frame and used grey fiberglass screen for the top, bottom, and sides. Seems to be non-abrasive and looks nice..

can't find the coated an i was told crickets could eat trought the fiberglass or nylon.i used 1/4 hardware for my fisher's with no problems

You can coat it yourself, most automotive places sell a rubberized spray on coating, or if your concern is the sharp edged, simply apply a few light coats of latex paint, it will eliminate the sharp edge and get you a nice color and look, not to mention prevent rust! Hope this helps, I built alot of bird cages and I have used it to "rubberize" my cages.

i work at menards so im always looking for things to build a cham cage with.
i got hardware net.
its for gardning, and blocking areas off. it is 3' x 15'
and it was $20. its all plastic and i was going to make
an outside enclosure for my guy but i realized i didnt need to so
now i have it. it is black. there is this green stuff that is like
chicken wire that has ovals, you know, and its all plastic too.
nico has the same stuff i have on his cage for his female veiled.
my only concern is if the bugs can escape, but i dont have to use it for that.
im going to line the inside of my chams cage so he wont rip out any more
of his toenails....someday i will.
and 4'x15' wont really make to many cages.
if you make a 2'x2'x4' cage you will need about 8 feet in length
(if you cut the width in half) and then another two feet for the top.
it will waste another 2 feet. so you will only have a piece of 4'x5' left.
if you make smaller enclosures you can do maybe more then one.

I use 1/8th" hardware mesh/cloth for the tops. I dont like how it looks so I use fiberglass screen for the sides. Iys a little too fine, so when misting not all the water gets through, but I can focus through it better.
