im building an enclosure and i was wondering if the hardware cloth/mesh would be ok to use...it is 1/8 in mesh and 27 gauge.....i know a lot of ppl use the kind with a plastic coating but i couldnt find any....and i got it smaller so i dont have crickets all over the place.....i was wondering if it would hurt his feet as well.....

Just make sure after you build ur cage u give the galvinized metal a wipe down the dust can be toxic "I use to build horse trailers with galvinizing on the metal and we were told in safty meeting to wash hands with soap and water before eating"

The edges can be sharp. It can hurt feet and toes. Better to go with coated wire. That said, I use hardware cloth for the tops of most of my cages. I painted it with latex acrylic, to soften the edges. My chams (save one, which has a coated wire top for that reason) arent much for climbing on it to hang upside down, so I figure this is good enough. But I wouldnt use it for the sides. Keep in mind I also wouldnt use the window screen that is very popular, for the risk of toenail injury. So take my thoughts for what they are worth to you.

i dont think it is galvanized metal..but i only have it at the top bottom and side so far...i think i'll go find some that is galvanized...i dont want it to be a waste in the end...thanks for the help
