This is about a female veiled that I helped treat. For those who don't know me I have been a Veterinary assistant for 15+ years. Last Thursday we received a phone call from a cham owner who's veiled had a prolapse. She was prolapsed for over an hour & they lived over an Hour away from our practice. We advised to bring in to been see and when she got to the hospital she looked pretty sad. Her bladder, colon and uterus were prolapsed. We took her straight to surgical area and gave her some pain meds and anesthesia. The owner suspected eggs but did not give her a place to dig. Xrays showed LOTS of eggs. After replacing prolapse and giving a few minutes to allow pain meds to set in she began to pass her eggs. We allowed her to wake from anesthia and she returned to her normal color & we gave her a pan of potting soil ( a little hard to find at 11 PM) to finish her job. She is doing great so far (today being Sunday). After going through her set up we don't think owner has UVB light. So wish her luck. Gave owner this forum to help them with set up & questions. Hopefully we will see them here soon. P.S. LOTS of credit obviously to My Vet I work for she's the best.
