My girl loves when she’s out of her habitat, but getting her out isn’t easy. She hisses and bites. Any tips on how to get her out easier? I only do it occasionally.

If she hisses or bites don't take her. Only take her if she willingly crawls on to you

And if she hisses keep your hands in the cage untill she stops and acts normal

My female veiled is the same way. When i put the black end of the digital thermometer near her she puffs up and does that. Same with new people near her

try food and hand feeding, thats a great way to build trust, put the food on your forearm and let her crawl onto you to get the food

She always looks like that when she is outside of her habitat, even when shen ventures out on her own. I think I will just enjoy her coolness while she’s inside unless she shows me other clues. I’m always very gentle and she has plenty to explore inside her habitat. Thank you for letting me know. I’d never want her to be scared

I will certainly try this way! I only want her to have a safe, but interesting life.

Never force a chameleon out. Everything should be on their terms unless its for safety of medical reasons.

First photo is showing stress coloring. Shes exposed on the couch and probably doesn't feel safe. More relaxing coloration and pattern would be how she looks in the other photos.

There are quite a few thread on these forums with guides on "taming" (i hate that term...) that detail trust building steps. Just search "building trust" and you should fine some info.

Thank you for great information and where to learn more. I get great pleasure from watching, feeding and caring for her and just don’t want her whole life to be inside the habitat. I’ll let it all be at her pace and learn ways to build trust. Thank you for responding
