Handling Chameleons.

Hey guys, I've got an 9 week old veiled and i've been handling him about 2-3 times a week. I was wondering as to if he was too young to be handled as he is turning brown and staring to open his jaw and hiss at me, or should i just fight through this stage and carry on until he become comfortable with the handling?
Thanks, Sam.

He's stressed out, that's why he is gaping at you. I wouldn't handle him if he is doing all that. Don't force him to be handled.

agreed. they all have their own personalities, and if he wants to be handled he'll deffinatly let you know. Just leave him be and get comfortable with your appearance and maybe he'll warm up to you :)

I agree with the people above me, if he wanted to be handled he would let you know, he would walk on to your hand by himself. Give him time, he might come around.

I agree with everyone else. He is still so tiny - they run so fast at that age, and they will just run/drop off of whatever to get away if they feel the need. Amy ran off my hand not long after I got her - it really scared me and made me nervous of her. Handfeeding will be your best tool to get him used to you.
