Habitat Placement?

So, took the kids to the Lizard Museum here in town and fell in love with a Panther. Now I just have to figure out how to make a suitable home for him before I run back to the store and get him. As I am sitting on my couch and looking at my room I have two spots that I can choose from. One is next to, not in front of, a huge window. This is by far the least active location for him as it is in the only corner of the room. The other spot, which I would prefer, would be next to the tv and the speakers. I could put soundproofing in the specific spot of that side of the cage. I am just worried about the noise and whether it would bother the poor guy. I will be building his home. It will be 30 x 30 and as tall as I can make it without the lighting having to go through my ceiling. Thanks. Oh yeah, we live in central California and it rarely gets below 20°F outside.
Also, I know it probably isn't the right place to ask but I am here and might get an answer. I have been told that he shouldn't be able to see another Chameleon, even across the room, as it can cause territorial stress. Is this true of other lizards too? My husband wants to put his Australian Water Dragon into the same room. The window spot would be across the room from the Dragon, and in clear view, and the tv spot would be on the other side of the tv and relatively blocked. That is, unless my husband and the Dragon are on the couch across from the tv spot. Lots of confusing. Sorry and thanks for any help you can provide.

Some chams might feel very exposed to view if by a big window, or be bothered by activity they can see outdoors. Some might try to reach all that "habitat" they can see but not reach. You might have to hang something on that side of the cage to interrupt the view but not all the daylight. Remember, they won't absorb any UV from sunlight shining through glass, so you'll need the correct UV lighting on the cage.

Chams can only hear low frequency vibrational noise such as the bass from the speakers. The visual of the TV might be bothersome. And, at night the light from the TV might interfere with sleep. Again, you could drape something dark over that side of the cage at night.

Yes, views of other animals can stress the cham (the other animal may be considered a predator, an intruder, or prey) and possibly vice versa. If your cham cage has good heavy foliage the cham may feel able to hide from view. You may have to experiment with this.
