Well, its been a couple months since I've posted, but habanero is happy as anything, and really starting to color up. He'll be 5 months old on the 23rd!! The pictures dont really do him justice, he shows some really cool blues purples and reds though!

Also, I let him free range a bit outside, and just caught him munching on a yellow jacket..I'm sure they eat tons of wasps and bees in the wild, but has anyone ever had an issue with chams and stinging insects?

I would try to stop him from eating yellow jackets or any kind of wasp as they can be pretty aggressive. But for bees, I do it, as well as many others. Probably the best bee to go with are Carpentar Bees because the males don't have stingers and the females rarely sting.

People also feed Honey and Bumble Bees but you have a higher chance of you cham getting stung with these. And I do think that I have heard in a few stories of chams dying not longer after eating a bee. This may be because it stung him in an area of his mouth, or throat and caused swelling that prevented him from breathing. Or there is a chance that with how some people are allergic to bee stings, some chams are as well, and if this is true then that may have been the case.

So it's your call with the bees, but I'd steer clear of the wasps/yellow jackets.

One of my chams ate two honey bees a while back when he was outside nothing happened to him but I wouldn't recommend it. :D

Well its not that I intentionally fed him the wasp, it just happened to fly by while he was free ranging outside and he snagged it. I'll try to prevent it from happening in the future though.
