gypsy moth caterpillars good for chams?

during the warmer months there seems to be an abundance of gypsy moth cocoons in trees loaded with caterpillars. Has anyone ever fed them to your chameleons? They are pretty fuzzy, don't know if that is good or bad?

Yeah I can't imagine those being good, but I don't know for sure. The Wisconsin DNR has started a war with them because of the damage they do to trees. When I go out fishing I can find trees just loaded with them to the point its creepy!

Even if they are safe, so many areas spray serious pesticides to control them you might not be able to find any that aren't coated with something toxic. I'd just avoid them entirely. So many other better feeders available.
