Guys im worried!

so i just noticed, my little buddy woke up an hour ago and i looked at his left eye just now and it was closed, i thought no big deal and i watched it for about 20 mins and it was still closed and occasionally it would poof up and look like it was real big and it just doesn't look like the other one. im getting worried, should i be?

There is obviously something to be concerned about if he is keeping one eye closed. Have you filled out the How to ask for help form yet? It is possible if it is just one eye, he could have injured it on something but there are other things that might be causing it also. Fill out the form and pics of your cham and set up would be even more helpful

okay thanks so much! should i post it here? or elsewhere? oh and its not freaking out anymore, he is just blinking with his left eye pretty constantly.

go to a store, get saline solution (like eye drops, but make sure it is just saline) and try to put a drop in the eye. just like you would do.

When there is an eye problem, you should give him a few extra mistings and try and mist his body with warm water. Maybe give him a shower so he can really clean his eyes out. If this doesn't help and he still closes his eye all the time I'd take him to the vet and get it checked out.

When you give him a shower place a fake plant in the shower and have the warm water bouncing off the walls onto the plant and have 1/2 the plant in the water so he can move in and out of it

My lil guy has the same problem. I got him from Screameleons and thankfully they're great with helping out. He usually gets something in his eye right after shedding, but the last shed he couldn’t get it out. I gave him a shower for 2 wks and then used a moist Qtip around his eye to help him loosen it up right after I gave him the shower. Now the problem is it can be 100 different things. Thor is a strong lil guy, veracious eater and feisty. I would try the shower and the Qtip and if that doesn’t work I would recommend seeing vet. I had to schedule an appt with 2 vets. The first one didn’t know crap and the second vet was wonderful, I fell in love with the Doctor and staff. He was so gentle with Thor and knowledgeable about the species. He gave me eye drops and told me to use it for 10 days, so I’m hoping it will help him. If anyone lives in Queens/Long Island area see Dr. Monaco

oh jeez! im sorry to hear about him! glad to hear that there is a good vet around you, the thing is, reptiles where i live aren't very big so i HIGHLY doubt that there will be one that knows anything at all about chams. but she stopped doing that about an hour ago and shes doing great! i'm thinking that it was the shedding thing it seems the most likely, although getting something stuck in his eye was possible too. thanks again everybody! and i will definitely try the shower and maybe the Qtip aswell
