Hey guys! I made some gut load ice cubes out of mustard green, papaya, kale, apple and carrots. I actually made way more than I thought and I was wondering, how long do you think it will be good in the freezer?
6 months is what I hear, so quite a long time. I typically shave a 4th-ish of a cube and put it in the feeder cup with my bugs the night before they're to be fed off. Two ice trays full go a long way.
The not chosen ones are fed repashy bug burger, which you can also freeze for the same amount of time, and dry roach chow consistently.
I've used mine up to a year later but I'm sure they were not as nutritious past the 6 month mark. I bag my "cubes" up inside a freezer bag once they are solid.

I double freezer bagged mine. But once they looked nasty I tossed them. I started making smaller batches to avoid waste and them sitting more then 2-3 months at a time.
Yeah, even though they can last that long, I would opt to make enough for a couple months so nothing ends up wasted. Bagging them up sounds like a clever use of space. I'd just had mine sitting in the trays still.
