Gutload question

I read a lot about offering certain fruits/vegetables to your crickets, could you use something like this as well,

or is it not recommended? Could you use both, or one or the other?

Unfortunately, that product is not a great choice. It will provide the needed moisture your insects require, but not much more. Search the forums for sandrachameleon's blogs on gutloading. I make my own dry gut load and supplement with fresh fruits and veggies when available. I also use water crystals to provide them with a water source they won't drown in.
