Is it true that chameleons only grow as big as their enclosure lets them
![]()
Nobody told me that, I just heard it somewhere and wanted to know. And by growing to enclosure, I meant if you had a small enclosure, it would only grow to a certain size and the bigger the enclosure, the bigger the cham. Trust me, I would never do that to my cham or any other cham. I love chameleons. I was just wondering. And by the way, that link is hilarious.HECK NO!!! Who ever told you that, hunt them down and slap them silly! (Please don't I am kidding...)
No really, whoever told you that does not now what they are talking about. Even if it were true.... dont you think that's kind of cruel? Manipulating the growing habits of an animal to accommodate your convenience? (Not you specifically, speaking generally). Something wrong with that...
I only know of one animal that grows according to its enclosure:

Yea that misconception has floated around for snakes gold fish and chams.. apparently.. all are false. Though it would be very awsome to choose your pets size in accordance.with the space u have available.
