Hello Everyone,

My name is Jether and I live in Mesa, AZ. The only pets I have ever really owned in my life have been dogs which I enjoyed raising and breeding, and Betta's. A few weeks ago I had to write a Natural Science critique for an English class and wrote a paper on Ecomorph and the Cape Dwarf Chameleon and thus my obsession with Chameleons has begun.

I came across Chameleon Forums via a comment on a blog, Much Ado About Chameleons, and have been scouring various other websites and resources to find out as much as I can about these awesome animals. Having never owned a chameleon before I am still trying to decide what I would like to get first. My first choice is the Panther chameleons (especially the Blue Bar Ambilobe and the Nosy Be) but as a first time owner I am slightly weary because of the higher cost and what seem to be stricter requirements with them. Jackson's are also very cool and are currently my second choice. I would really like to find a breeder in Arizona so I can check out the Chameleons in person. However, if anyone has any really awesome experiences with the sponsors of this site or a specific breeder and can recommend them I would be happy to check them out too!

Nice to meet everyone! Hope to have my own Cham very soon and share pics and experiences with everyone!

welcome to the forum!
i had a great experience getting a jackson from chameleons northwest!

there are a few people from az on here, some breed.
hopefully someone will have some babies ready for ya.

Welcome to the forum :)

i recommend check out our care resources, they are filled with good accurate info on chameleon care as well as caresheets for specific breeds! https://www.chameleonforums.com/care/chameleons/ its really good to do your resource before you bring them home as they need precise care and that way everything is all set up properly so they can just get settled in :D

veileds are also a good choice for new keepers as they are a hardy species. they also show a nice variety of color and are less expensive to buy then panthers. to see some great pics of veileds you could check out this thread, https://www.chameleonforums.com/show-me-your-veileds-103514/

let us know what your decide to get! look forward to seeing some pics :) any questions you have, please ask and we will help all we can

Hello, welcome to our world. The link you were given contains so much good info you can start out like a pro by following it. Just do some reading and we will be seeing pictures of your beautiful, healthy cham very soon.

Thanks for the link. I definitely have checked it out and the information there was very helpful and seems to resonate with the information I have found on other blogs and websites that I have done research on!
