@jajeanpierre These were taken a week or so before she laid 15 beautiful eggs.

She's stunning, Bob, just stunning.

I have to say a beautiful quad female is so much prettier than almost any quad male.

Your pictures broke my heart. On Monday I euthanized my beautiful blue girl, QiuLong, who looked so much like yours. She laid her eggs Wednesday very quickly with the help of oxytocin but was in agony. She was suffering before I took her in, so something was amiss. Gross necropsy showed nothing but the vet is sending either pictures or the body to the San Antonio Zoo's reptile vet. She was so strong, everyone believed if she could get the oxytocin out of her system, she would be fine. I had her in the vets almost every day. By Monday I just couldn't continue. It was awful. I am disgusted with myself that an animal in my care suffered as much as she did. All the way through this ordeal she was usually the same bright colors as your girl in your picture. I'm heart broken over her suffering and losing such a wonderful, sweet and beautiful quad. I hope I have some beautiful QiuLong babies. She left me two clutches.

I 'm so sorry to hear about QiuLong and I apologize for deciding to post these pictures at this time. It amazes me how quickly we get attached to these small creatures, and pick up on their unique and peculiar personality differences. If we think about (mostly in retrospect) how supremely stoic they are, we should understand why they are so challenging to keep. And they're so short lived. All the above just sets us up for heartbreak.
Although you are fairly new to chameleon keeping, you have jumped in with both feet (not that uncommon), but also with all your heart. The difference being you do an incredible amount of research, have an innate curiosity for animal husbandry, and obviously a good background which crosses over to all animals in your care!

Great job Bob! What are the bloodlines with this pairing?

Sorry to hear about your female Janet. Hopefully if there is any silver lining, her eggs will hatch and carry on her genes. I think the females have the best personalities more often than not when compared to males in this species. Of course, I love the showy males, but it's nice to admire the more subtle beauty the females have as well.

Thanks Kevin. She was truly stunning. I think I sent you pictures of her and referred to her as my "blue female." I'm having a lot of trouble coming to terms with how much she suffered in my care even with constant veterinary attention. I'm not one of those people who try to save everything because I "love" them. We really thought she would be okay.

I agree, the female quads are full of personality and seem much calmer and more placid than the males. And, they are very very pretty especially when they go that velvety black with the bright green jewels sparkling over their face and body..

So sorry for your loss...I hope you will have beautiful babies to remember her by.

Kevin, I have 2.2 from the imports 18 months ago. The female pictured was the smallest and slowest growing. As soon as I bred her, she became a chow hound and produced a lot of eggs considering it's her first clutch.
