Gravid Much???

Our 1yr old veiled, Cami, telling our baby boy Zeke she's not interested.

I'm still amazed how big she is considering we got her from petco. (Currently 1ft)

Anyone care to enlighten me more on why it is better to purchase a cham via reputable breeders as opposed to local mainstream pet stores??? Both our male and female are prospering well and we got them from petco. But i'm guessing that's because I made the right choice of joining this site and getting great help, tips, and advise from ya'll to properly care for them. ;D

My thought process on your question would be the fact that you know they're being taken care of PROPERLY prior to being in your care w/ a purchase from a reputable breeder as opposed to a big retail chain that is keeping them in aquariums w/ water bowls. The proper husbandry from day one helps to ensure you have as few problems down the road as possible. Good on you for doing your research to do the best job possible of taking care of your chams. I agree this is the best place to learn.

If I only knew what I learned in one day here on the Forum 20 years ago when I had my first panther. Heck darn pet shop didn't know her sex, age, local, or hardly anything. This place is such an incredible resource. Peeps are ALL awesome. I learn something new each and everyday.

In 1993 my vocab changed instantly when I moved from IL to FL. Went from "yous guys" to "ya'll" and "pop" to "soda" with out any effort.

Agreed! I go to the pet store with questions the staff knows SQUAT about, I seriously just think to myself.. "I'm better off going on the forum.. I probably know way more (about cham care), than these ppl". All they know is what they see on their shelves most of the time.

Yea I didn't realize how bad it was until I got the kids (we call our chams and cresties that. Lol!) and learned so much from this forum! We went to a local exotic reptile store and I just kept noticing the little errors in their care and setups as well as feeding! I felt so sad to leave knowing what those chams were lacking
