Gravid female about to pop!

My jackson cham female has gotten huge of the past week! The first shot is her last Sat and the second one is of her today! She is HUGE compaired to the other girl who had 14 almost 2 weeks ago. I would think she is going to drop them soon... right??

They are live bearers, so they come out ready to go. No egg laying with them! I love live births!

They don't lay eggs, they shoot out cute little babies..LOL

They drop them so the sac opens on impact. Sometimes they don't open then they will need you to do it. Be very careful when doing it try not to damage the hatchling.

Yes, I went through this on my last clutch. I posted all about it 2 weeks ago. Mom did not drop them from high. She was walking around the bottom of the enclosure just dropping them out, so I had to go in and break them all open. By the time I found them all a few were already gone, but I was able to save the other 10.

Well, I am assuming she is going to have them soon. Usually she hangs all day from the side of the cage and today she has been sitting on the ficus allllll day. Not moving much at all.
The other girl who delivered 2 weeks ago started pacing the bottom of the cage a few days before she dropped. So I don't know what is more normal, the pacing or the staying in one place.

All of my gals are "pacers" before they give birth. I believe that to be the norm. I have also found that my bitaeniatus ladies get a gravid, heavy look almost immediately after mating yet don't give birth for many, many months so I hestitate to guess on when your Jax will give birth, but she's certainly gravid!

She has had a bulky look to her for as long as I have had her, but this past week she has just gotten really big and uncomfortable looking. I can see she is MUCH bigger then the other one was already, which is why I was thinking she would be due soon, but maybe not now huh..? They were about the same size 2 weeks ago before the other one dropped, with this one being slightly larger in the tummy. Wow I can't imagine her getting much bigger. As you can see from the pic her belly hangs down past her feet! lol!

No new babies yet! No pacing today. Just sitting on the ficus again. She seems to be very uncomfortable when she hangs in her usual spot so she has not been hanging much.
I have the other clutch that I will be selling in about 2 months or so
