What if it won't fit in the oven I'm really wanting to get two nice long curly ones for the cage to go around the plants I might even find a small one and dig it up and plant it so it's alive
Don't remove all of the bark, but take a wash cloth and go the length of them a few times, back and forth, to remove the flaky stuff. Scald them in a tub of hot water or shower them with your hottest water. You want to make sure they don't start growing again, as well, so a nice soak in a bathtub full of steaming water from the tap will take care of that and any insect or mite pests.
