grabbed tail in sleep?

OK, I know I may be paranoid, but please help me out here so I can go to sleep and not be freaked out.

Kukui fell asleep tonight, holding his usual branch. I checked on him about an hour ago and he managed to grab his tail like a branch in his sleep.

Now, he has NO signs of MBD, but I know paw grabbing is a potential sign to pain. Do you think he is just dumb and grabbed his tail? Or do you think there is a chance of pain or MBD starting?

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Male Veiled, about 5-6 months old about 10-11inches, nose to tip of tail (he wont stay still for a good measuring, so this is a total estimate).
Handling - once or twice a week
Feeding - Crickets, 6-8 every day. Mealworms, 1-2 every other day. Kale, freshly hung every other day. gutloaded with kale and hibiscus leaves/flowers that have been sprinkled with spirulina.
Supplements - dusted with calcium w/o D3 every meal. Calcium w d3 twice a month, multivit once a month.
Watering - Mister that mists about 15 seconds every hour, dripper that drips once every few seconds all day long. Hand misting as needed.
Fecal Description - normal poo, white urate.
History - captive bred from Lance, got him back in August and he's been perfectly fine since then.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - 18x24x48
Lighting - 1 regular housebulb for basking, 1 repliglo 5.0 for uvb (brand new, about 3 weeks old)
Temperature - 85 at the base of the basking bulb area, 72-74 at the very bottom, furthest from the basking bulb area. Using a regular non electronic thermometer.
Humidity - Been up and down, from a high of 70% to a low of 30%. Trying to regulate it. I just started using the heat in my house, so it's been interesting playing around with the humidity. I have a mister that sprays for about 15 seconds every hour, a dripper that drips about once every few seconds, all day long and I've resorted to leaving a damp sponge near the heat bulb to help bring some extra humidity. I have a non electronic hydrometer.
Placement - My cage was near my window, but with the cold days starting, he has been moved to the other side of my bedroom, in between two vents, which are about 8 feet away from him on each side.
Plants - all fake plants except for a pothos that is nicely suspended in his cage (with big rocks covering the substrate)
Location - Upstate NY, about 20 min south of Saratoga.

I would think if its his first offense not to worry. If it is something more, he will continue to grab.
As far as your humidity, especially with the weather changing I would up the misting time to 3 to 5 min per session minimum. I mist every 3 hours for 5 min. More at the beginning cycle. I have a dripper as well and hand mist.

Do you think that would cool off the cage too much? I had an issue when I bumped his misting up to 2 minutes with the cage dropping in temp. it had the humidity up, but the temp was dropping. Then again, this was when I had him near the window and not in between the vents.
