Good thing or bad thing?

Recently I've noticed that my juvenile veiled has become accustomed to me opening the screen and getting ready to feed her and she will follow my fingers even if I don't have a cricket in them.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing that she seems to be "trained" to expect food like that?

I only ask because it was rare for her to eat from my hands and now she wants to do it all the time.

Seems like a good thing to me.
It's nice that she's attracted to you--even if it's only because she associates you with food.
Plenty of people here will surely envy you ;)

Mine first learned to accept me through bribes of food, and it's been a very good thing, both for the chance of interaction and because it makes it easier to bring him outside for sun, medicate him when needed, etc.

Id say that is mostly a good thing. She is making an understandable association between you and food. She is presumably a good eater so you wont likely have to worry about underfeeding/hunger strikes.

You could tell us how much you are feeding her, if you are concerned she is perhaps not getting enough.

It may feel less of a good thing if she tries to eat your fingers, finger nails, rings, hands, clothing buttons, your moving eyeball....

I try to get about 5-7 in there a day.

I don't know if she does this because she is underfed. Is that enough per day?

My male chameleon only eats from my hand. My female chases her food all around her cage.:)

5-7 what per day? small crickets, large crickets, small silkworms, large silkworms, big or small roaches.... ???
how old is she?
How much does she weigh? is her weight going down?

I buy what the pet store says are large crickets but they vary.

I've had Linda for 3 months but I don't know how old she was when I got her. She's still relatively small and I've never weighed her before but she looks healthy to me. I haven't noticed any drop in her weight. Only that she seems really eager to eat even when I open the door to her cage.

It could be because I'm on my phone, but has her tail always looked like that? It looks weird to me... In the broken kind of way.
