Good starter cham

After raising veiled for a few year ( about 5 years ago ) and having my pygmies now I was wonder what a good next step cham would be?

I would prefer one that does not get huge

I would recommend a panther.

ive heard b.thamnobates (Midlands Dwarf Chameleon) can be kept in pairs they stay small and get pretty colorful

Sometimes Rudis can be kept in pairs, but you have to accept that they may not want to so you'll have to split them up or sell one.

But Kearth wants something on the smaller size, and panthers are pretty big. I know that's why I didn't get one -- I was short on space.

The only reason I want something smaller in size is because most of the stuff I keep is small.

I dont have a huge space for large large cages and I want to make sure they have enough room.

I like the carpets.... I have not really looked into the rudis. I may have to check them out. I like the idea of small size but yet colorful.

You are on the right tract, you are doing the research brfore the cham. I would go on the internet and look up several odf the smaller chameleons, look at the pictures and the needs of each and go from there. Also I just ordered " The Chameleon Handbook" by Francois Le Berre (get the second edition) It has lots of pictures of lot of types of chamemeons. it will also gice you the bacis needs for the different type. I order it off amazon and it wasn't expensive. Best of luck. Let us know what you decide.

The carpets can be really colourful; in fact I think they are one of the most beautiful. I thought my rudis were kind of boring; one being bright green, the other being moss green, but the patterns they come up with are amazing. In fact the "boring" moss green one is fascinating, in that everytime we go past the enclosure we don't know what colours she will be displaying. I'm sure you will enjoy whatever you choose.

If I was in your situation I would definitely go with Carpet chameleons. There patterns are fascinating.
