can you guys point me in the right direction of a couple reasonably price but fairly accurate digital hyrometer/thermometers?

i bought a one from walmart as well as an..analog? version but they are showing pretty different readings in the same spot so im looking for suggestions.

thanks guys

I got one by villa from amazon it was like $25. I like it it was two probes one for humidity and other for temp. This way u can measure humidity where the heat lamp is not and the temp of his basking spot. Would recommend it.

therm/hum

I bought a western caliber III and it seems to work very well. Nice small little unit with no wires.

Yeah what zerpda said. I bought 2 of them and they both display the exact temp & humidity. Plus their rated pretty high by a lot of reviews. They also record max & minimum temp & humidity, very handy feature.

well i use the exo terra ones, i got mine for 5.00 dollars and they work very well. no wires or anything it just sticks on your wall, i recomend it

i considered that caliberIII but i wanted to ask about it first.

with something like that do you just kind of mist - put it in and wait a few seconds and then take it out?

Ben I bought an accurite one from Home depot for $10. Reads both humidity and temp. The temp I know is accurate as my house temp is set at 73 and when cage lights are off it is spot on. It is a digital. Everyone says they are more accurate than the analogs. I am guessing the humidity reading is correct also but I really have nothing to compare that to as the cage has lights, plants, water etc and the rest of my house is not subject to those variables.

Wc iii

Pretty sure its not waterproof, but then I have it in a location where it doesn't get sprayed on directly and I use the Mistking system set to go off 8 different times for a few minutes each and it has not failed me. I just stuck it inside the enclosure. I have never removed it. I liked it because if it is highly recommended for watching temp/humidity for cigars costing tons of money, its good enough for me. Right off the get go I set it up next to those zoo med and exoterra guages and it was much, much more accurate.

i got an acurite acu-rite (something like that - assume its the same brand you mentioned) - but im pretty sure the one i got isnt very accurate. it has an "indoor" and "outdoor" thermometers and they read different even in the same spot and the hygrometer was "indoor" only

i have a feeling yours is better though so i wouldnt worry about it, i just wanted to say my brief experience with it. mine was one of the cheapest with a hygrometer so that would possibly explain that.

i ended up ordering the caliber III so maybe ill find a good spot for it in the cage or maybe ill just take it out when i mist. not the end of the world and worth it if its accurate and i believe it will be.

thanks everyone, always appreciate it.
