So my panther chameleon just finished laying her first clutch!! It took her all day to do so but she is all finished she covered them all and now she is off to bed! I don't think she laid to many i took a peek as she was covering them and saw a few little white eggs! Will it be okay to leave the eggs where they are until tomorrow morning. I want to wait until the morning when my friend can be here because he has more experience with these things then I do.

:D I am so excited! I'm glad everything has gone well to this point!

Any advice would be great!!

How old is she? Do you know how many grams she weight before she had eggs and then during. Mine just mated today and I'm pretty much excited as well.. She is almost 1 yrs old and weigh in at 61 grams.

She is about 10 months old. I never weight her but when I bought her they said that she was a good weight for breeding... they weighed her I guess. She didn't lose to much weight after she laid the eggs and the first thing she did when she got back in her tank was eat a cricket!

I know now I have to wait forever for the little guys to hatch!

The eggs should be okay to leave overnight...but only if the substrate is at the right moisture level...not too wet, not too dry. If you wait until then though, you will have to be more careful not to turn/rotate them when you move them.

thanks everyone! We took the eggs out and we were extra careful not to move them to much! She had 19 eggs! Two are really tiny and I don't know what to do with them... I guess if they are not meant to make it then they wont so I put them in the incubator anyways. Here are some pics I know how we all love to see them! lol Thanks for everyones help! :D

Your temperature is to hot 74 is what you want also I sink my eggs in the substrate to keep them hydrated also to prevent them from rolling in the later stage of development and accidental movement.

oh i know it was really hot that day, i had the door closed in the room when i was taking the eggs out because of my crazy dog who decides to come charging in and not care what he steps on! The temp has been at 76 i can't get it to go any lower. Do you think it will be ok if i push them into the vermiculite now? I made little holes with my fingers but that didn't seem to work so well...

What he is saying it that the temp needs to go lower. That incubator is a cooler with a heater. Try turnig the heating element off and putting a ice pack in the bottom. You will need to watch the temp carefully and remove the ice pack when it gets down to 74. Hope that helps.

Yes you can still sink the eggs just don't change their orientation. Be careful and push them into the substrate. Also it's critical that the temps don't go over 80 and that's pushing it you may lose them if 80 is constant . You could of put all the eggs in one container I feel that when they start hatching they can sense each other starting to hatch especially in the wild considered that they are in a mass clump.

:D Thanks everyone for the great advice! The temp doesn't go any higher then 78 its usually around 76. I am going to try the ice pack to get it a little lower, sink them into the substrate and try to fit them all in one container. VERY CAREFULLY! Do you think the two tiny eggs are going to be any good?

I did the ice pack thing but about an hour later it went up again. That was a great idea though! I moved the incubator into the basement where it is cooler and that seems to be doing the trick! I also sank the eggs into the substrate a bit. Thanks for all the help everyone!
