Giardia

So the vet said my chams fecal showed Giardia. He is giving me flagyl for him. As far as cleaning his cage and everything what should I do?? Anyone with experience with this stuff before?
Any help is wonderful want to do whatever I can to help my sweet boy.

My vet gave me an information sheet when my Cham had it. Use like a 1:32 ratio of bleach to water

I recommend using a 1 :9 bleach :water ratio. Which is what my vet recommended. Get rid of potted plants until his rid of the parasite. Also make sure the cage dries out in between mistings, giardia thrives in moisture/standing water.

I have dealt with Coccidia and have used the 40 volume hydrogen peroxide that you get at the beauty supply store with water. ugh, forgot the ratio! I don't know if you have Sally's by you, but if you do, they carry it. Fortunately my cage was small at the time and had one live plant, so I got rid of it and replaced it. Sprayed down all the vines, branches and doused the cage, removed the floor, etc. I had to do repeated treatments, so I cleaned the cage this way 3 times. So far so good, and my chameleon is negative right now. If you search Coccidia on here it will give you the ratio on how to mix. That is what I did and it seems to have worked, along with the meds.
