Check out this MASSIVE grasshopper my brother found and caught at the beach!

It proved to be a meal to be remembered for my female adult veiled....

She and my other male veiled love hoppers, its their favorite out of all the bugs we catch for them.

That is a nice big grasshopper! , your female is showing some gravid colors. Do you have a laying bin ready for her. Thanks for sharing. Dave

That looks like a species from the genus Schistocerca or the Bird Grasshoppers. They are a great food source for the larger and mid sized chameleons. If you catch more you should try to breed them. The males are smaller than the females. The one in the picture looks as thought it is a female.

Yes, its an american bird grasshopper; it was a fluke catch that showed up in the long grass by the beach when we were playing a game.
