Getting some new babies

I am getting my baby panthers on Wednesday and had some questions about the temp. and humidity at such a young age...

I have heard that the highest the basking temp should be is around 85 degrees for a baby and when they get older raise it to close to 90 degrees for the hottest part of the cage. Then I have heard that the coolest temp in the cage should be around 70 degrees away from the basking area. Are these good temps for a 8-10 week old baby.

I have read that 70% humidity is good for all ages of chameleons and that you should start misting them as soon as you recieve them. Does this stay the same (70%) for there entire lives?

I am getting nervous about my new panthers coming so I am just trying to make sure I have everything perfect for them when they arrive!!

A two to three month old can probably already stand a basking area of 90F. When you have read that young chameleons shouldn't have as high basking area temps most of the time people are talking about neonates (that first month). Also, don't sweat the humidity ;) keep it around 45 to 50% (an average house's humidity is about 40% so if you add live plants to a cage it should hold it in enough) and mist them about three times a day and they will be good. And when you mist them mist them for a good 5 to 10 minutes at a time. One more thing...you said you are getting multiple, make sure to watch them because sometimes they can become stressed out being housed together even at that age. At 6 months I would definitely separate them. Good luck and I want to see pics.

thank you for the help.

I am getting 1 pure ambanja girl, 1 pure ambanja male, and 1 50% ambilobe 50% ambanja female which I am planning on breeding them when they get old enough. I was hoping the females would be ok for a month or two together but I have a separate cage for the male already. I will gladly make another cage for the females so they can live separatly because I found a very easy way to make the cages that is at a pretty decent price so I will go ahead and make that before they show up..

Thank you again for the help and I will be posting pictures as soon as I get them

yes they are my first chameleons but I have had different types of lizards in the past. I used to breed bearded dragons so I have had experience in the lizard field before. I have read and learned so much about them and am so excited to get them soon
