I bought 2 plants today for its habitat. Home depot didn't know much about the animal and what might or might not be safe for it. I was told as long as the animal does not eat the plants it should be okay. The word "Should" scared me so I'm here to make sure what I got seemed okay, so here we go.
First plant is a Pothos Houseplant. Came on this like coconut stick and is all viney, was told it would grow very quickly and kinda engulf the cage with enough time. (Cage is 100 Gallon Apogee 20x16x48)
~Did some searching online, of people actually using this plant and worked fine, just of course with any plant make sure to rinse it well with some kind of cleaner for any sprays, just to be safe.
Second plant is a Hawaiian Ti (Red Sister). Regular plant it seems, limited to very little or none information at all after searching if it was safe for animals of any kind let alone lizards.
~Primarily got this plant because it was red and colorful and am trying to create a lustful environment that doesnt look plain with green ordinary plants. Mainly looking to see if anyone has any information on this plant!
I also plan to use some Moss *** well around the soil and such which I believe should be fine and add some realistic factor to the wild growth that nature is.
I also want to know how safe is it to put like for example, something metal in the center of the cage, like a statue or something wrapped in vines to make it more appealing to look at, even if the Cham is hidden away and unable to even be seen (As I've read the Verrucosus Chams are very Timid)
I have an extremely nice Design in my head that will look beautiful, but at the sometime I'm trying to maintain a healthy environment for the little guy to ensure he lasts a long time.
Any pictures of another unique Cage with some unnatural decor would be appreciated
