my chams been hissing at me lately, she's never done this and i don't really understand why. she is 5 months old, could it be like teenage years for her? rebellious? or is there something i can do to make her less hostile towards me? if i go to pick her up or something she'll breath heavily and hiss.
i don't do this often at all but if one day i have to i fear she might attempt to attack, and her hissing sort of upsets me, i understand it's typically normal but i've read that chams can be docile

well basically im asking, is her hissing normal?

also, offtopic, when will i know to put her in her laying bin? she currently has a pretty small cage and im getting her a new one that is twice the size, so she cant do it on her own accord, but i heard they will begin to produce around this time, what should i do?

first off laying bin put it in asap. that said i hold my cham every day even if it is just for a few seconds it gets them used to it also i am starting to hand feed it takes alot of time but well worth it. then when they see you its not a threat its a treat or routine

i would have to disagree...chams arent animals that "like" to be handled, some tolerate it but others dont...sometimes at that age they do go through a phase and become a little pissy but when it comes down to it, they are solitary exotic creatures...i try to only handle mine when necessary (i.e. full cage cleaning or taking them outside)...as for the laying bin, just whenever they start to develop eggs...you can seach the forums to see what a gravid female looks like and also how to set up a laying bin
