George Acclimating

More updates on George.

He's been in his new enclosure for a few days now and he's starting to get used to it. Every morning he's up at the basking spot for a while before exploring. He usually goes right to the bottom, walks around for a bit, and back up again a few times a day, basking temps are 80-85 but plenty of space to regulate further up. He's eating a little less than he used to which is either due to acclimation but I do give him slightly larger insects now. Giving him as much privacy as possible. No more outside trips until he's fully settled and the UK weather stops being terrible. Photos!

Some updates while this thread is still quite high up.

I'd say he's totally used to the cage now. He knows where the dripper drips and likes to stay around the top of the cage. He's grown a bit and is due for a shed I would say. His food is bigger, as he simply wouldn't take smaller insects anymore. Most importantly, he knows where the door is and he tends to sit there around 9AM for an hour waiting for me to handle him, though if I ignore he goes back up after a while (And I feel bad). His colors are exploding.

That's alright we used to have a husky and black lab mix who would steal your bed while you were in it. Nice colors!

Ollie's an odd one. He loves lying with people, when I was ill a few months ago he sat on my cushion behind my head and I got up quietly and took this photo.

Gotta love dogs.

Ya I remember one time when I was little and for some reason I was sad so she curled around me all the way like I was a puppy and made me feel safe, now years after she passed we have a rat terrier afraid of crickets haha.

Nothing worse than losing a great companion. Sounds like she was a lovely dog. The terrier sounds hilarious though, crickets must be invading his/her dreams My little puppy Stanley chased a little locust that got out the other day and kept picking it up and putting it back down really gently, it was really odd, don't think the locust appreciated it lol.

Ya we had her for about 14 years, our cat at the time was born same house and same day I believe, they grew up close in a pixar movie way and when my dog died my cat seemed depressed and didn't eat or care. Reminded me of where the red fern grows. Funny part of my dog is rat terriers are hunting dogs, yet she hides from moving leaves.

Your hand mister looks just like Sir-Mists-A-Lot, but with yellow plastic instead of green........Did it come from Underworld in Loughborough? Top quality product, and so much cheaper than a Mistking.......

It's just called Quality Garden Essentials hand mister, picked it up at Barton Grange. It works great, was very inexpensive too. Gonna get a mistking eventually as I want to go on holiday next year, but yeah, the cost T_T

Oh, right - my one is called 'Critters Choice' and it's the only one like it I've seen (until just now). Not quite as special as I thought, then...........oh well, it still works great

George is an absolute stunner!! Lovely colours coming through. He is the same size as my little fella but he isn't anywhere near those kind of colours yet.

Where will you get your mistking from?
