I was wondering if Crested and fat tail geckos need a uvb bulb. They are nocturnal so during their day cycle they hide from the light anyway. Just wondering.

They do not. Well I've no idea about fat tails but you don't necessarily need a UVB for cresties however some keepers disagree and say they are necessary. Personally I see no point.

I had a feeling you didnt. Do they create d3 a differen way then?

Assuming you are feeding CGD then that is where your geckos are receiving their D3. The diet specifically is made for the needs of cresties and gargs as well supplemental wise.

I do feed it to him but he wont eat it. the only way i can get him to eat it is by dipping crickets into it and then handfeeding him. I dont want to keep hand feeding him for fear of him getting lazy

How do you know if he eats it or not? Honestly, he'll eat it when he gets hungry. I don't see mine eat but I'm not awake all night waiting for them to eat, as long as there is poop and you're monitoring weight you should be good.
