Gecko thinks everything is food

Hi! Can anyone help me? My gecko suddenly thinks is food and lunges at anything that moves or 'resembles' food! I'm concerned they might and try to eat their tail! They have never done this before

Are you talking about Java, your leopard gecko? Is it a he or she? How much are you feeding? One of my male leos just went thru a type of brumation (or something like that) and barely ate. My female eats everything offered ravenously now after her hunger strike a few months ago. I suspect she may be working on producing some eggs. My little rescue guy was half starved when I got him and was trying to nip at my fingers, thinking they were food.

It's just a healthy feeding response. I have a beardie that won't eat anything unless it's moving/wiggling.
I always thought gecko keepers were lucky because geckos will eat that powdered stuff.

Just keep telling yourself, "They're all different, and that's OK."

Yep java were not sure what their gender is yet but their 7-8 months old! They've seemed to slow down a bit tho
