Gatorade/Powerade

Not sure if I should put this here or on the Lizard Lounge or even somewhere else, but, I was wondering if Gatorade or Powerade would be beneficial in any way to Chameleons. Like if there was a way to get them to drink it, obviously I wouldn't put it in the Monsoon System for it to spray on them but like if you dampened a paper towel with it and pressed it against their mouth and they were to drink some of it, would it be good for them?

If you are wondering for the sole purpose of dehydration I would scratch the idea of gatorade or powerade and use Unflavored Pedialite used for babies.

No it's just that I drink a lot of Gatorade, and Powerade sometimes, and if it is good for chams then I would try to give my Veiled some every now and then .

I second the pedialite. I used to drink that when I played hockey.

I wouldnt give it to a cham if it is fine and healthy but if ill I would. i have seen many people use it with snakes and lizards here in the UK when unwell and some animals that looked like they would die any second survived.

That's interesting. Are you talking about the gatorade/powerade or the pedialite that James and c2c mentioned. The only reason I would be giving my Veiled gatorade/powerade is if it is beneficial to chams, and because I always have a surplus of it.

Maybe watered down plain pedialite would be best for a sick herp. because they are produced for humans.
If you want to use Gatorade I would do the same, water it down. BUT I dont like the artificial flavors and colors in Gatorade being used for Herps. Maybe G2 would be better than regular gatorade. Not the regular Gatorade
