So i was called at work today by my husband, whom was laughing incredibly hard, i asked him what in the world was so funny, he says his best with occasional pauses to laugh and breath, "I went to make some of them steaks you brought home yesterday for some lunch....and i realized after taking them out and thawing them that we didn't have any butter so i used veg oil. instead" and then he paused and began laughing and waited as if i was gonna figure out his punch line...so i said "i dont get it...." he then controlled his laughter and attempted to proceed "We we dont have any vegetable oil either hun, remember thats why we didnt cook them last night". I did remember that i hadn't grabbed butter last night at the store, and that i didn't have vegetable oil, but it still wasn't registering with me as to why it was so funny, and i could hear one of my hubbys farm hands laughing in the backround saying atleast it smelled really nice. my hubby proceeded " i didn't realize until the steaks were semi cooked that they were cooking awfully strange and the kitchen was beginning to smell like burnt meat and pine tree's" he then began laughing and i could hear the farmhands going on about how he shouldn't cook unless its on a grill....it was then it hit me... "sweetheart did you try to cook with Lamp Oil"? my husband was laughing so hard.... i began to laugh too, it is hilarious, as it may have been dangerous on our viking cooktop with the open flame, it still is absolutely hilarious, he is such a bone head. I will be removing the Lamp Oil from the kitchen, and awaiting the burnt pine smell to go away.
